Privacy policy
Updated 14 September 2026
Respect for your privacy is part of the care we bring to our work. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit this website, contact us or enquire about our services.
Who we are
This website presents the work of Ahna de Vena under the business name Sleep to Thrive, based in Australia. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Sleep to Thrive.
For privacy enquiries, requests or complaints, email hello@ahnadevena.com.
Information you share with us
When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, organisation and the information you choose to include in your correspondence. We use this information to respond, discuss suitable support and manage our relationship with you.
You can make a general enquiry without sharing detailed health information. If you choose to discuss your sleep or health, that information may be sensitive. We seek consent where required before collecting sensitive information, and explain any additional information needed to provide a service.
If you provide information about another person, please make sure you have their permission or appropriate authority. Enquiries about children should be made by a parent, guardian or authorised representative.
Visiting this website
Website hosting and security services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, requested pages and the time of a visit to deliver and protect the website.
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to retrieve those fonts, which may disclose technical information such as your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
The current website does not include advertising pixels or a visitor analytics tool added by us. Hosting or sign-in services may use cookies needed to operate or secure the site. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect access.
How information is used and shared
We use personal information for the purpose for which it was provided, including answering enquiries, arranging and delivering support, maintaining relevant records and meeting legal obligations. We do not treat a visit to this website as permission for unrelated use of sensitive information.
We use Microsoft 365 business email. Emails and attachments you send us are processed and stored through Microsoft’s email service, separately from the client records kept on Ahna’s computer.
Information may be handled by service providers who support website hosting, email and business administration, and by professional advisers where needed. Disclosure may also occur with your consent or where required or permitted by law. Information should be limited to what is needed for the relevant purpose.
Our email and website technology providers operate internationally, and some information may be processed outside Australia. Microsoft 365 mailbox storage depends on the location configured for the business account; we do not promise that all email processing occurs solely in Australia. See Microsoft’s data-location information. You can contact us for further information about the providers involved in handling your information.
Keeping information secure
Ahna manages client records directly. These may include questionnaires completed as part of sleep support. Client records and questionnaires are stored locally on Ahna’s password-protected computer, rather than in a separate cloud record-storage service.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online service or email system can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending detailed health records in an initial email enquiry.
Information is kept for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, including applicable record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed and retention is not required by law, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
If a data breach occurs, we will assess it, take steps to contain it and notify affected people and the relevant authority where required by law.
Your choices and requests
You can ask to access or correct information held about you, or request its deletion, by emailing hello@ahnadevena.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Deletion may be limited by legal or record-keeping requirements; if a request cannot be met, we will explain why.
There is no charge to request a correction. If a permitted charge would apply to providing access, we will explain it before proceeding.
If you receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the email or contact us directly. Necessary service correspondence may continue.
Privacy concerns
Please email us with the details of your concern so we can investigate and respond. We aim to respond within 30 days and will let you know if more time is needed.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about making a privacy complaint.
Other websites and policy updates
Links to LinkedIn, Sleep Kit for Kids and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Please read those policies before providing personal information there.
We may update this policy as our website, services or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where a change requires notification or consent, we will take the appropriate steps.
